Overview

The Monash Ramaciotti Centre for Structural Cryo Electron Microscopy facility houses Australia’s first Titan Krios microscope, which is the most powerful microscope for biological electron microscopy and can fully automatically acquire thousands of images of molecular or cellular structures snap frozen in a virtuous ice layer.

The platform also houses five additional transmission and scanning electron microscopes alongside a suite of highly specialised sample preparation equipment for life sciences electron microscopy. The platform is run by expert staff that support a wide range of electron microscopy techniques for structural and cellular biology.
