Overview

Our not-for-profit, NATA-accredited facility provides a comprehensive range of genomic services to accelerate your research and offers professional consultation to find the right approach for your genomic-based projects.

We offer Sanger and Next Generation Sequencing, High Content Screening, Microarray and Real-Time qPCR analysis and are commencing Single Cell genomics services in April of this year using Fluidigm’s latest C1 and Biomark systems.

Service 1:

The Gandel Charitable Trust Sequencing Centre provides a Sanger Sequencing service utilising Life Technologies 3130xl Genetic Analyzers that generate sequence read lengths of over 1000 bases. The Centre services research Institutes throughout Australia and maintains an excellent reputation for the provision of high quality, long read sequence data and comprehensive client support. The Sanger Sequencing service is NATA accredited and complies with ISO 15189:2007.

Services also include Fragment Analysis, Gene Expression utilising Applied Biosysytems 7900HT Fast RT-PCR Systems and Cell Line Identification.

Service 2:

The Australian Cancer Research Foundation (ACRF) Centre for Cancer Genomic Medicine was established through generous funding from the ACRF. The Centre provides a Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) service utilising the latest Illumina HiSeq 1500 and Ion Torrent systems. Services include whole or targeted genome, whole transcriptome, small RNA sequencing, gene expression profiling, ChIP-Seq or methylation analysis.

Services also include DNA/RNA analysis utilising the Agilent Bioanalyser and DNA shearing using the Covaris Adaptive Focused Acoustic System.

Service 3 :

High Content Analysis (HCA) provides a vital link between fluorescent microscopy, genomics and automated analysis. It enables the capture and quantitative analysis of images from small or large cell biology experiments that can be utilised to identify genes (or other molecules) that affect cellular function.

High Content Analysis allows the design and execution of more complicated experiments and accurate analysis of large sample sizes to identify potential new therapeutics.

Service 4 :

The MHTP Microarray Centre is an Authorised Agilent Service Provider and provides processing and analysis for Gene Expression determination and Comparative Genomic Hybridization to identify chromosomal aberrations or DNA copy number.

Using the Agilent Scanner the Centre can also provide scanning services for other arrays.
