Melbourne Translational Genomics Platform

Melbourne Translational Genomics Platform makes genome analysis capabilities available to researchers of the University and precinct, accelerates adoption of these technologies in clinical practice, and supports research and clinical discovery.  It is an evolving resource of cutting-edge technology and knowledge accessible to researchers and clinicians of all disciplines, and aims to foster cross-pollination of capabilities and experience between the University, clinical institutions and industry

Monash Macromolecular Crystallisation Facility

X-ray diffraction provides a key methodology for determining the three dimensional structure of biological macromolecules to atomic or near atomic detail. However, before an X-ray diffraction experiment can be performed crystals of the molecule of interest are required. Efficient production of high-quality protein crystals for structure determination is one of major bottlenecks in Structural Biology. By improving the throughput and reproducibility of crystal production automation can improve the success rate of this process.

Micromon's DNA sequencing service is one of the key core facilities in Australia and has a nationwide reputation for its high quality data and reliable, customer-focused service. Micromon has an established high-throughput sequencing facility utilising Illumina Next-generation platform technology and this is coupled with access to a PC3/QC3 Quarantine bio-containment laboratory for imported biologicals.
