Bionic Enterprises

Development of innovative device solutions for a range of medical disorders, including Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, essential tremor and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

ARMI ES Cell Core

DNA constructs are electroporated in our facility into mouse or rat ES cells. After selection, clones are picked and screened by Southern Blot. The correctly targeted clones are then thawed and expanded and only after re-confirmation by Southern and sequencing, they are injected into blastocysts by the Transgenic Services at Monash.

Victorian Consortium for Cell-based Therapies (VCCT) Biological Isolator Facilities

Two biological isolator facilities have been established to facilitate clinical development of human cell-based therapies. Established under the auspices of the Victorian Consortium for Cell-based Therapies (VCCT), the isolators provide a complete barrier from environmental and operator-borne contamination and are therefore ideally suited for aseptic processing.

Stem Core

The SCA Stem Cell Core facility at the Melbourne Brain Centre provides essential services for Australian scientists using pluripotent stem cells in their research. SCA resources support bioengineering, nanotechnology, stem cell biology, advanced molecular analysis and clinical research activities

Monash Protein Production Unit

The Monash Protein Production Unit is a specialised protein production and purification facility. We have expertise in the production of recombinant proteins involving the generation of DNA constructs through to biophysical analysis of recombinant purified proteins.

Monash Antibody Technologies Facility (MATF)

MATF is a global source of cost effective, high quality, high affinity, custom monoclonal antibodies. We are known for our ability to succeed at challenging projects and strive to be the best at producing monoclonal antibodies where others have failed.

HTCS (High-throughput Chemical Screening) Facility

The HTCS Facility houses a Lead Discovery library currently containing ~200,000 compounds and robotics platforms to screen these small molecule chemical entities against biological targets of interest for drug discovery or for chemical biology outcomes

CSIRO Recombinant Protein Production Facility

The ISO9001 certified Recombinant Protein Production Facility (RPPF) provides Australian researchers with subsidised access to state-of-the-art facilities for large scale protein production, process development and optimisation using mammalian cell culture, fungal and microbial expression systems.

Burnet Cell Imaging Facility

Assists scientists from all disciplines to visualise and track the movement the cells. Provides guidance in the areas of project design, training and support in image acquisition and analysis. As part of the Monash Micro Imaging network, the facility gains has access to additional expertise and imaging platforms.

Victorian Centre for Functional Genomics

The Victorian Centre for Functional Genomics at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre provides the infrastructure and expertise to perform small interfering (siRNA), micro RNA (miRNA), long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) and lentiviral-based short hairpin RNAi (shRNAmir) knockdown screens for functional genomics studies.
