The BOMP provides access to optimal live cell imaging, conventional confocal microscopy, as well as pioneering microscopy 2-photon and super-resolution microscopy instrumentation. We provide a complementary suite of capabilities including PC2 and pathogen handling capabilities, and full access to our expert staff.

Metabolomics Australia (Melbourne Node)

Metabolomics Australia (MA): focused on providing customised service for small molecule analysis, access to world class expertise, analytical technologies and bioinformatics. Breadth of capability across biotechnology, diagnostics, environmental, agriculture, food/beverage and biomedical sciences. Providing specific detection, quantification services and catering to complex investigations and systems wide analyses. ENABLING INNOVATION.

Melbourne Magnetic Resonance

Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy determines the structures of molecules ranging from small chemicals to macromolecular proteins and nucleic acids. The NMR Facility contains eight NMR spectrometers available to academic and industry users on a fee for use basis. The massive 800 MHz high-field NMR spectrometer equipped with cyroprobe technology is signficant in its size and capability.

Melbourne Advanced Microscopy- Electron Microscopy Unit

The $10m Electron Microscopy Unit is a key facility designed for physical sciences, life sciences and engineering applications. The unit is equipped with five state-of-the-art electron microscopes, available to academic and industry users as user operated, collaboration or fee for use basis.
