Manufacturer: Corbett Research, rotor-gene Q. Installed 2013.
Real time PCR machine used to analyse the stability of proteins in various buffer conditions. Can be used to test for interactions between compounds and proteins, if the interaction causes a change in the thermal stability of the protein.
Funding sources: NHMRC
Benefits of the RT-PCR machine
Can be used to analyse the effect on inhibitors binding to proteins. Analysis of buffer conditons to stablize proteins or to determine the effects of binding small molecules to proteins.
