ICPAES is a solution based technique whereby samples are prepared and introduced in liquid forms (aquous or organic solvent) for analysis. With utilization of argon plasma, a flame having a temperature as high as 8000°C is capable to thermally excite nearly all elements which emit lights at their characteristic wavelengths. These lights are collected at two view modes (Axial and Radial) by the spectrometer and subsequently resolved into a spectrum. Intensities of these lights are also measured and can be used to work out concentration of particular element(s) by comparing to a calibration curve of standards with known concentrations.

Benefits of the ICPAES

The analysis will be benefited for simultaneous measurement of multiple trace metal elements with extremely low detection limit levels (mid parts per billions to low parts per million).
